A rodent is essentially a small animal with a sharp teeth, such a rat or a rabbit. Rodents come in a variety of varieties, including bandicoots, roof rats, and house mice.

1. Bandicoot

Bandicoot typically reside in fields and farms and can be seen outdoors. They typically stick close to the city's garbage disposal locations rather than entering buildings.

Bandicoot Characteristics:

Rats known as bandicoots are a more aggressive breed that can dig tunnels even in concrete foundations and storage facilities. These rodents are hoarders and can store large amounts of grain in their burrows. When threatened, they become aggressive and attack with pig-like grunts.

2. Roof – Rat

Roof-Rats are a particular species of rat that are typically adept climbers, ranging in colour from black to light brown with a lighter underside. In essence, these rats have longer tails than bodies. They have much better senses of smell, hearing, and touch than they do of sight.

Roof rats first appeared in India and Eastern Africa, and now they can be found everywhere.

Roof – Rat Characteristics:

Roof-Rats have incisors that grow at a rate of 4 inches per year on average. Rats manage themselves by constantly gnawing, which can do significant damage to a home, office, or structure. They typically cause severe damage by chewing on anything that gets in their way. Additionally, they constantly urinate and excrete droppings, polluting anything they come into contact with. Roof rats can swiftly recognise and avoid unfamiliar objects introduced into their habitat.

Risk:

Roof rats are disease carriers for about 45 different diseases. With their strong teeth, roof rats can readily harm many items that cross their path, including food, water, and the environment. They are also known to consume little children's body parts at Indian nursing homes. Roof rats cause significant harm to the entire food supply chain, including field crops, food storage, and even food transportation.

3. House Mouse

The House mouse originated in East Asia and has spread throughout the world via the supply chain and import/export. Grassy environments are where these mice normally reside.

House Mouse Characteristics

During the summer, house mice breed continually outside, and they breed continuously indoors. The Mice like to roam about a room's perimeter rather than go too far from their nest. They consistently take the same path there and back. Smear marks can be seen in their fur where grease from dust and urine has built up.
